Over the course of my genealogy pursuits in the last few years, I’ve found plenty of books online, in book stores, and in local libraries that were helpful or insightful, and plenty of others that weren’t. Here are some of the best genealogy and history books related to my areas of interest that I’ve come across so far which I’ve added to my own personal library.
Some I’ve read front to back, others I’ve barely started but am anxious to dig in to, and still others I’ve read a couple of times over or have referenced repeatedly during the course of my research. Links have been added for easy access to the full details on each book’s content, author, publisher, and reviews.
Have a comment on any of the books listed or have another recommendation you’d like to share? Let me know via the “Contact” tab at the top of this page or via the form below. I’d love to hear your opinions. I’ll also check out your suggestions and consider adding them to my list of favorites here. Eventually, I’ll be writing reviews of some of my top choices in each category and post them on this blog.
Happy browsing!
